In times of uncertainty, a sense of normalcy can be just as vital as physical aid. Last week, our Battambang team travelled to a displacement site near the border, where the population of displaced families is unfortunately growing. Working alongside the Provincial Department of Social Affairs and Child Trust Cambodia, we focused our energy on the most vulnerable residents of the camp, the mothers and the children. We had the privilege of meeting over 200 children living at the site. Our team distributed toys and facilitated games, providing a much-needed distraction and a moment of joy for children whose lives have been upended.
For pregnant women and mothers with newborns, displacement poses severe health risks. Our midwife and social workers provided essential pregnancy and infant care supplies to every mother in need, not just those in our program. We also spent time sitting with women, offering gentle education on hygiene and safe feeding practices to keep babies healthy in the difficult conditions of the shelter.
The needs at these border sites are growing every day. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help us continue these vital visits. This is the link to our donation page.
