Our First Newsletter for 2026 is Out
We are officially kicking off 2026 with a lot of movement on the ground. Despite challenges, our teams remain committed to showing up for women and girls in their most vulnerable moments. In this first edition of the year, we're provided a look at our response efforts. We are also privileged to share two stories of strong, resilient women. Their journeys capture the spirit of our mission, showing that with the right support, hope can flourish even in the most challenging circ

A Message to Our Community Regarding the Border Situation
We want to start by thanking everyone who has checked in on us. We truly appreciate your prayers and support. To put your mind at ease, daily life in Battambang province and Phnom Penh remains calm. However, in the border districts where we support mothers and their families, specifically Kamrieng, Sampov Loun, Samlout, and Phnum Proek, the situation has changed. Families in Kamrieng and Sampov Loun have been compelled to evacuate. Due to the close proximity, many residents

Wonthaggi Baptist Church Joins Mother's Heart as Our Newest Donor
Children's Day may have passed, but at Mother's Heart, the celebration continues. We are grateful to welcome our newest donor, Wonthaggi Baptist Church. Their generous contribution through their May Missions Appeal will support our Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) Program, opening doors for mothers to return to school, gain vocational skills, start a business, build a livelihood, or find employment. Because none of that is possible without a stable foundation, the WEE Pro

Carrying Too Much, Too Soon
In 2025, we served 154 mothers in our programme. 64 of them were under 18. That is 42% of all the mothers we served. Still girls themselves when they came to us. This is not just what we see at Mother's Heart. It reflects a pattern across Cambodia that deserves more attention than it gets. A young girl facing pregnancy on her own is already carrying more than she should. Her schooling, her health, her future are all at risk. And so is her child's. Getting support early makes

Still Children Themselves
Today, the world celebrates children. The ones who play, laugh, and get to be just children. But for us at Mother's Heart, this day means something more. Many of the mothers we walk alongside are still children themselves. Still young, still figuring life out, and yet already raising a baby on their own. This International Children's Day, we celebrate them both. The little ones born into love and care, and the young mothers who chose to keep going even when it was not easy. *

Overlooked Realities
Next week, the world celebrates International Children's Day. A time to honour play, innocence, the simple joy of being young, and the rights that every child is born with. At Mother's Heart, we celebrate that, too. But we also carry a reality that is easy to overlook. Under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and Cambodian law, a child is anyone under the age of 18. And many of the mothers in our program are exactly that. Still children themselves. Next week, we wan

Love Finds a Way
Before we close this week, we want to share a story that really stayed with us and hope that it will also stay with you. This week our teams in Battambang and Phnom Penh visited mothers and babies in the program. It was a full and meaningful week. But one little one caught our attention in a special way - baby Rithya*. This boy is just so happy. From the moment you see him, you cannot help but smile. At 15months, he is growing up with so much love and care around him. HIs gra

A Vision Turned into a Village
Happy International Women's Day! This week we honour the brave mothers and daughters, the supportive sisters, and the wise aunts and grandmothers who make Cambodia strong. We believe every woman has the right to be supported, heard, and loved as she shapes her own future. Our celebration this week is twofold! We are also sending a big (belated) Happy Birthday to our founder, Katrina Gliddon, OAM. Sixteen years ago, Katrina had a simple vision: that no woman or girl should eve
