Wonthaggi Baptist Church Joins Mother's Heart as Our Newest Donor

Children's Day may have passed, but at Mother's Heart, the celebration continues.

We are grateful to welcome our newest donor, Wonthaggi Baptist Church. Their generous contribution through their May Missions Appeal will support our Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) Program, opening doors for mothers to return to school, gain vocational skills, start a business, build a livelihood, or find employment. Because none of that is possible without a stable foundation, the WEE Program also ensures participants have access to essential support services including food, housing, infant formula, and child or kinship care so they can fully engage in the program and focus on building their future. In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown, a very young girl entered our program carrying more than any child should. But she was determined to take her life back. Through the WEE Program, she found the stability and support to do just that. After giving birth, she completed dressmaking training, finishing at the top of her class, and they returned to school. Today, she takes custom sewing orders from home between classes. Her skills are in demand, and her child is close by, and her life is quietly but surely her own.

With Wonthaggi Baptist Church walking alongside us this year, more young women will have the stability and opportunity to build a future of their own.
