The situation along the border provinces remains critical. In recent weeks, families in the Kumrieng and Sampov Loun districts in Battambang province have been forced to flee their homes, many escaping with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Our Battambang Program Office has mobilised to respond. Senior Social Worker Chariya and Midwife Somalina have returned to the displacement sites to ensure the safety of the women in our program, as well as the wider community. It is a heartbreaking scene with elderly residents, pregnant women, new mothers, and young children living in uncertainty.
Understanding the high stakes for a mother and infant during a crisis, we are focusing on immediate survival needs. Working alonside the COmmune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC) and our partners at the the Hope for Cambodian Children Foundation, we have distributed:
Food packages and infant formula
Shelter and sleep kits (mosquito nets, blankets, pillows, and tarpaulins to keep families dry and safe from the elements)
The impact of this displacement is not just physical. It is deeply emotional. For many elders we talked to in these communities, this conflict triggers painful memories of Cambodia's past struggles. Our team is there not just to deliver goods, but to offer a listening ear and a hand to hold. We are also conducting health checks on mothers and babies, including those who are not in our program, to ensure no one feels forgotten.
How You Can Help: As the conflict continues, the need for relief grows. We are committed to showing up for these families for as long as they are displaced. Please consider a donation to keep our emergency supplies stocked.

Thank you and may God keep us all safe.
